“Diets,” as we know them, don’t work. I think it’s safe to say that we all know this yet day after day we still go online and look in the latest fashion magazine for the easiest and most tempting way for us to have our cake and eat it too…literally. Face it, we’re fat because we eat fat. If I didn’t eat fat, I wouldn’t be fat. But how do we get to that point where we go from making the conscious effort to eat better and eat less to unconsciously choosing grilled chicken over fried? The key to losing weight is getting your mind right. It sounds so simple yet so hard all at the same time and that is exactly what it is. We are uncomfortable with being uncomfortable so it is much easier to just give up and eat the cake. We then get angry at ourselves, change our name to Catty McFatterson, and sit in front of the TV with a gallon of ice cream and a spoon. “Why am I so fat?” “Why can’t I lose weight?” We all say it, it’s a vicious cycle and only you can change it when you’re ready.
A good way to get started is by taking a good look at yourself in the mirror. Look at all the lumps and bumps. Now look at yourself in the eye and tell yourself, “I love my body.” It might sound silly, but it will actually be hard for you to do it. Keep repeating, “I love my body,” until you can actually say it while looking in your own eyes and not looking away or laughing. It’s a very freeing moment when you can say it and mean it even when you’re body isn’t what you might consider to be perfect. Honey, no-body’s perfect, but you can sure get close!! For changing the attitude and style of the person, the leptoconnect review at online sites should be checked. Some essential things are considered through the person for the consumption of the compound. Every little detail about the health should be disclosed to the doctor for the purchase of the supplements.
I have found that getting on eating routine has made my life so much easier. I work retail full-time so I never have the same schedule week to week or even day to day, for that matter. You have to get on some sort of a schedule. I make sure I get up about the same time, give or take an hour or so, everyday for starters. If I work from 9am to 6pm, I get up at 7:30am. If I close the store down that night and go into work at 1pm, I’ll get up about 9 or 9:30am. I try not to get up any later 9:30am no matter what.
Eat protein in the morning either with your breakfast or as your breakfast. Protein fills you up and sticks with you longer and doesn’t mess your sugar levels making you feel like you could eat an arm of one of your co-workers or kids by 10am. Turkey sausage is great with scrambled egg whites. If you don’t have time to cook in the morning, eat an apple and a colby-jack or mozzarella cheese stick or add some peanut butter. If you pay attention, better yet, write down what you eat in a typical day, you will begin to notice that you eat less on the days you eat protein in the morning. Another quick and easy protein breakfast solution is what I call Egg Bites. Here is the recipe for my Egg Bites:
- 12 egg whites
- 4 whole eggs
- about an 1/8 cup of milk
- a couple of good pinches of Parmesan, Asiago, and Romano cheese mixture
- salt and pepper to taste
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Add all ingredients in a large bowl and mix well with a fork making sure all ingredients are blended well. Spray a 6-12 cup cupcake tray with non-stick cooking spray. Pour mixture into cupcake tray until all cups have an equal amount. Bake in the oven until eggs are done, about 30 minutes. (Ovens may vary.) Once the Egg Bites are out of the oven, take them out of the cupcake tray and let them cool. Once cooled, you can wrap them individually or by twos in freezer bags or freezable containers. When you want one, just pop it in the microwave for about 30-45 secs and you have an instant, delicious, healthy breakfast.
Take chances with your recipes. Add cheese to your Egg Bites. Add turkey bacon or turkey sausage or spinach. Onions are fantastic in this dish. You can make so many variations with your own creativity and imagination. Let your taste buds lead the way.
Drink water. It’s true. You have to drink water. Water will help flush your system so, yes, you will be going to bathroom more often, but you’ll start to notice you don’t feel so bloated anymore. Your stomach will start to get flatter and you’ll genuinely feel lighter and not so heavy and bulky. Try green tea packets or those no calorie flavored water packets to mix things up a little. I can only drink so much water but when it tastes different every time, it’s not so boring.
Go to bed! Stop staying up all hours of the night. You have to go to bed at a decent hour every night. Just like with getting up at around the same time every morning, you have to go to bed around the same time every night. Your body is a creature of habit…make it a good habit. Find something that is relaxing for you and do it about an hour or so before you go to bed. I bet some of you are laughing right. “Relax!! Pfph!! Who has time for that?!?” Trust me when I tell you, I know exactly how you feel. You have to do it not only for yourself, but also for your family. Read, knit, write, talk with a friend, fold laundry. Whatever your cup of tea is, do it. If you don’t know what relaxes you, you have to find it and do it.
Last, but maybe the most important…PMA. You heard it! Positive Mental Attitude. This theory goes back to what I said about getting your mind right and into it. If you have a bad attitude about yourself or the process in general, you will fail. No matter how much fat-free, sugar free whatever you eat and no matter how much sugary sweetness and fried deliciousness you give up, you will fail with a bad attitude. When you feed into negativity, you mentally shut down. Immediately you turn to the “easy” route. If life were easy, I wouldn’t be fat. Get comfortable with being uncomfortable and you’ll win at life.
