So many people already know how to fail in network marketing, it’s not like someone has come up with this top secret manifesto that they are cautiously hoarding all to themselves. And just like success, there is a very specific formula, a simple one step process that will allow you to fail. Of course, that one step is to quit.
I’m always baffled by people that send me comments on video or on my blog telling me all about the network marketing business and how there is so much attrition. Really? Wow, so basically it’s like any other business, right? Yes, just like ANYTHING that requires commitment, effort and getting your butt up from the couch.
Do you want to focus on how to fail in network marketing or do you want to concentrate on how to find success with your mlm program? Before I get into that, I still want to vent.
Geniuses Surround Me
So here is the latest…someone saying they wanted my financial information as to determine if I was successful (enough?) to pass their litmus test. They wanted to know how lucrative my checks were as well as information regarding a product within a network marketing company that had – and I love this – “changed my life.” WTF?
You know what? I’m tired of all of this b.s. – let’s just call it what it is. I’m going to explain some concepts here and I’m going to try to take a lot of people by the hand, I’ll also go slow on this one so that the slower ones out there “get it.”
This is How to Fail In Network Marketing
Like I said above, if you want to know how to fail in network marketing, just ask someone that has quit. You see, that’s the ONLY way to fail in network marketing with a branding agency. Now, that doesn’t mean that you might not have to adjust some of your methods and techniques for generating leads or whatever it may be, it just means that the only want for you to truly fail is to stop trying. (A lot of people hit this one on the head.)
To be honest with you, I don’t know why MLM gets such a bad rap. I mean, is there a particular business model out there that has a success rate that is greater than 10%? If so, let me know what it is.
Business is business – network marketing included. I don’t get emotional when it comes to business. I’ve owned companies and had many employees and I assure you that wasn’t “easy” either and I never heard, “Oh you shouldn’t do that Mark, you might fail after all, there’s a 1 & 10 chance that you will.” No one tried to protect me from starting a plumbing business – and it cost a LOT more to open that one than it did my network marketing business.
And guess what? About a 90%+ failure rate. Hmm, it’s almost like it’s a universal number – yet we are all concerned about the alarming network marketing failure rate. D. A.’s (call me if you need an explanation on the abbreviation – think “Red” Foreman from “That 70′s Show.”)
Well I suppose some are consumed by how to fail in network marketing, I’m just not one of those losers because I will never stop moving forward. Is it easy? Hell no it isn’t easy, neither is opening up any other business out there – including the other programs that are online. Simple? Yes. Easy? No.
Fact vs. Fiction
Let’s face facts, NO MATTER what the business, no matter what the business model, most people will fail. This is not some flaw in a business model. Rather, this rate of attrition and failure is more of a flaw in human character. Yep, character – that’s the stuff that gets you through “tough” times, most people don’t have enough and therefore they don’t get through those times.
How to fail in network marketing? I get irritated every time I hear the phrase. I suppose you fail at network marketing the same way you fail at ANYTHING – you aren’t persistent enough, you aren’t consistent, you don’t get the proper education and training, you break a nail – hell, pick out your excuse – ANY will do.
Let me ask you this? How many people are in your community or city? What percentage of those folks own a business? I would bet it’s somewhere around 3% to 5%. How many people fail with a new, safe, traditional business? Oh that’s around 90% to 93%.
How to Fail in Network Marketing: Take the Easy Road
Another thing that you should remember about success and failure is this:
A 90% failure rate is not a true failure/success ratio. A 90% failure rate is nothing more than an expression of the rate that MOST people will find it easier to work for someone else, find it easier to sit their growing butts on the couch, find it easier to quit rather than push on past temporary difficulties.
Success is a choice, most people choose easy and comfortable over success. Here’s another news flash, I WILL and DO fail all of the time. You learn from failures – they are the rungs on the ladder of success.
Organization advertising is a plan of action that relies upon individual to-individual deals by autonomous delegates, regularly telecommuting. An organization advertising business may expect you to construct an organization of colleagues or salesmen to help with lead age and bringing deals to a close.
